About

Peraoke

The place to sing Persian songs — free, and built by people who got tired of not finding a decent backing track.

Peraoke started with a simple problem. We wanted to sing Persian songs, and finding a good karaoke version was close to impossible. What existed either still had the original vocals sitting on top, came with no lyrics, or sounded bad enough to quit halfway through.

Why did we do it?

So we made them ourselves. One song at a time: vocals removed, the music cleaned up, artwork made for each track — and put them all in one place, free, for anyone who wants to sing in Farsi.

Today there are 95 artists and 245 songs on Peraoke, from Googoosh, Dariush and Hayedeh through to Mohsen Chavoshi, Sogand and Shahin Najafi. New tracks go up every week, and most of them exist because someone asked for them.

What matters to us

Quality over quantity. A track goes up when it actually sounds good to sing over, not before.

Free stays free. Running costs are covered by donations, not ads or paywalls.

Keeping the old songs alive. A large part of this library is music that isn't performed anywhere any more. Keeping it singable is part of the point.
